In the early 1990s, the Seneca Nation negotiated a compact with New York Governor Mario Cuomo that allowed them to operate four off-reservation casinos: the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino (SBC), Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino (SNRC), Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino (SAWC), and Seneca Iroquois National Golf Club.
The SBC, which opened in 2002, is a 1 million square foot casino complex featuring over 3,000 slot machines and electronic table games. It also offers live poker tournaments, blackjack tables, craps, roulette, and keno.
